Bose Lifestyle, To V or to T, that is the question?

Bose Lifestyle, To V or to T, that is the question?

Now listen, I can't spend your money for you but I can try to help you to spend it in the right direction. A Bose T series Lifestyle is superb, it's simple and it's a joy to use and at £1500 for the T10 or £1750 for the T20 it's not a ridiculous amount of money. You certainly can't get a better sound with ease of use for your investment.

The 4 main considerations of a Bose Lifestyle V over a Bose Lifestyle T are as follows.
Considering a Bose Lifestyle T...

First, the TV needs to be on to see what the Bose is doing (but the TV can be turned off once the CD or iPod is playing).

Second, you need a iPod dock and probably a separate remote as the Bose remote (which operates almost everything) will not operate a third party dock.

Third, the T series will only send sound to the main room. (Not a big problem for most people, we usually use Sonos for Multi-room).

Finally, the Bose Lifestyle T does not have an FM radio

.

The Bose Lifestyle V series costs more (£750 more). There are no two ways about it however, if total pleasure and ease of use is worth a little extra then the V Series overcomes the issues mentioned above.

It has a remote control with a display so the TV only needs to be on to watch TV. (It even lists your iPod tracks etc. as they play).

Second, it has a superb iPod dock with full control from the Bose remote and the best on screen interface you have ever seen.

Third, it does have an FM radio built in.

Finally, if you do want to send the Lifestyle sound to another room (dining room, kitchen, garden etc.) you can, just by adding a Bose amplifier and speakers and remote (per room, from £575 upwards). We now have a choice of second room remotes. Either the RC35 which gives very basic control for £95 or the new PMC3 which gives full control and interactivity (it shows all information, on its screen – iPod tracks, source, volume etc).

Finally finally, if you are really going to throw caution to the wind, the Bose Lifestyle V35 at £3350 has the smallest best sounding speakers in the world. They are three times smaller than the V25 speakers yet sound unbelievable.

If you could squeeze to this value then listen, but beware. There's no going back down the range. The small speakers are just incredible. As it happens, this is our best-selling Lifestyle system by quite some distance.

At the end of the day, don't believe me, come and listen.
